πŸ’œ UBE! πŸ’œ

If you're not familiar with ube, it's a purple yam native to the Philippinesβ€”where my family is from! πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ Its flavor profile is similar to a mix of vanilla & pistachio. Ube is common in desserts, like cookies, cakes, & ice cream.

In my recipes, I like to use ube halaya* (aka ube jam) AND ube extract*, since it's difficult to get fresh ube where I am. You can purchase the jam and extract through those links, or find them in the baking aisle of your nearest Asian / Filipino grocery stores.

Hi friends! Last month, my strawberry matcha rolls went viral on Instagram. This month, my mom's leche flan recipe went viral! It performed 3x better than the strawberry matcha rolls. I mean, just look at how perfectly shiny the flan is, omg: The pictures I took of my flan slice were stunning, too. My partner and I joked that they even looked like AI πŸ˜‚! And because I like to cute-ify everything, I also made a bear-shaped flan for fun. I just used a bear cookie cutter and melted chocolates to...

There were over 2 dozen cookies, multiple giveaway prizes, beautiful charcuterie boards set up by our friends Isabelle, Erika, and Arlyn, and lots of new friendships made. If you're wondering what I brought, I made 3 popular recipes from my site: earl grey sugar cookies, ube crinkle cookies, and chipless cookies! Trang brought her...
